some interviewers ask technical question which they don't expect you to know the exact answer directly..
more often, they prefer you to admit that you don't know, then try to analyze the problem, and suggest possible answers from your background knowledge.
e.g. : I do not know the exact answer, but i think......., please correct me if i'm wrong...
in other words, it is your attitude to try and problem-solving skills that they are seeking.
